Indoor rowing competitions - RESULTS
The results can now be viewed for both the Cornwall School Games, and the Cornish Indoor Rowing Championships on the 'Indoor Rowing' page. Both competitions were a success - HUGE thanks to all who made the events possible!

Cornish Indoor Rowing Competition - 26/1/2013
The Cornish Indoor Rowing competition is set to go ahead on Saturday, held at Newquay Sports Centre.
There are around 70 entries all together - over double the amount from last year

Rules and Regulations
The 2013 Cornish Indoor Rowing Championships
is small, friendly event. However there are set rules you need to abide by.
Registration and Weigh In
Registration will open at 9am, you need to
ensure you register and complete the PAR-Q form prior to competing.
If you are a lightweight you will need to
weigh in between 9am and 10am. This will be done on the digital scales. If you
are over the weight limits you may still compete, but in the heavyweight
category.
Men – 75kg or under. Women 61.5kg or under
Racing
Racing will start at 10am with the junior
races
There will be 8-10 concept 2 machines linked
up to the computer
You may set the drag factor to what you wish,
but you may not change it once racing has begun.
You may race with Ipods if you wish but be
aware you need to hear the starter and it may be distracting
There will be no heats, but there may be
several races for one category
Several categories may race together, but the
results will be filtered
Important Medical Recommendation
If on race day you feel
unwell, have recently been suffering from a virus or are on medication, we
recommend that you do not race. Indoor rowing racing requires maximal effort,
the organisers take no responsibility
for illness or injury caused as a consequence. If you have any doubts you
should seek medical advice prior to racing.

Where is it?
The competition is taking place at Newquay Sports Centre, Cornwall - TR7 2SL
What time does it start?
The first race will be 10 o clock - start times will be emailed to competitors once the deadline has passed as it depends on entries.
What competitions can I enter?
There will be individual 2,000m challenges in the following categories both Male and Female (dependent on entries)
- 16-18 years
- Open (18-39) LW and HW
- 40-49 LW and HW
- 50-59 LW and HW
- 60+ LW and HW
There is also a fun team relay competition - 2,000m in total between 4 people
How much does it cost?
£8 per person, £4 per junior (year 11 and below), £8 per relay team. £2 per 500m entry.
Are there junior races?
Yes but as the Cornwall School Games are the day before we are not expecting a big entry, there is a race for year 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11.
Do you have to be from Cornwall to race?
No! Its names the Cornish Champs as its held in Cornwall but its open to anyone
Is it a big competition?
Entry numbers have been fairly small, its a small friendly competition suitable for all abilities.
When is the closing date?
Originally the 18th Jan, this has been extended to the 20th Jan
